Details

Cascade Jewel is an enchanting vintage cabin, with an artistic, mid-century ambience. It is located in a private community on the banks of the Skykomish River, with a view of Mt Baring, towering over a river rock island. In some seasons the water rushes by, while at other times, the waterway in front of the cabin calms down to a rocky creek or natural shallow pool. In the summer, the waterway may dry out entirely, providing access to a charming island with a beautiful beach for swimming or relaxing.

In 2014, Cascade Jewel received an honorable mention in a reclaimed building materials competition in Seattle. In restoring the home to its original character, materials were skillfully sourced and repurposed to create a cozy, inspiring retreat. Listen to the water cascade over the rocks as you sip a glass of wine on the large covered porch, or toast marshmallows over the fire pit. This spacious, two-story, 1400 square foot cabin comfortably sleeps up to 6 guests, with 3 uniquely-designed bedrooms.

Both queen beds feature brand new mattresses, and the kitchen and both bathrooms are stylishly designed with granite/Quartz countertops. The original pine walls and ceiling are perfectly harmonized with the wood-burning stove and flatscreen TV, to make for a thoroughly relaxing mountain escape. Reserve today and make beautiful memories at the inimitable Cascade Jewel!

Truly a "Cascade Jewel!' Completely takes you away.....

Cascade Jewel is like no other place we have stayed. This is what a cabin must have been like in 50s/60s, with turquoise appliances and knotty pine everywhere. The vintage art and furnishings are awesome! Most original features have obviously been preserved, but with plenty of modern comforts. The bathrooms are beautifully designed, and the beds comfy. You will feel very far away from the hustle and bustle the moment you walk in. We grilled steaks over the firepit, and the weather was great, so we had dinner outside. The view of Mt Baring is stunning. The water in front of the yard is extremely low at this time of year, it is more like a creek than a river. But this means that you can easily access the island which has neat little beaches all the way around it. Bring shoes or boots with good ankle support. It must be spectacular here during the rainy season and Spring runoff. And the cabin would be super cozy after skiing. We absolutely loved this adorable home, and will definitely be back. -Joy

The Skykomish River and stay at the "Cascade Jewel"

This is a family cabin that is pretty comfortable. This is not a home in the suburbs, but a rustic environment with all the essentials to enjoy a few days in a rural setting. Everything works just fine. The beds provide a good nights sleep. We enjoyed our three day stay and would come back again when in the area. -David F.

Refreshing, Rustic & Comfortable!

We had a girls weekend here with 4 of us. There are 2 queen beds, 1 bunk bed and 2 bathrooms. All the beds were super comfortable. It is spacious enough for a family dinner or a few couples looking to get away. The cabin is restored to the 50/60 era with remodeled bathrooms and new flooring. I just loved the view of Baring mountain, the river and quaintness. Only a couple hours out of Seattle and an hour from Leavenworth. The patio lights around the exterior of the home make in warm and inviting. This cabin is truly a jewel and we will be back. Thanks for having us! -Sam

A Perfect Cabin for a Perfect Weekend Away

Cascade Jewel is truly a unique cabin, set on the banks of the Skykomish river, with all the amenities for a wonderful weekend away. We stayed in early December and enjoyed the wood burning fireplace, and well appointed kitchen and living space for entertaining. The cabin is striking distance to Stevens Pass (<30 min), making it a perfect cabin for avoiding the hassle of early traffic to the mountain. The mid-century decor is warm and inviting, and creates a fun and cozy environment. We loved the Electrohome record/iPhone player for listening to music! After taking advantage of the outdoor activities in the area, and enjoying food and drinks, we slept great each night in the ultra comfortable beds. We are already planning our return to Cascade Jewel, and will hopefully stay longer then just two nights! -Matthew S.

Great location and view

Great location and view for Stevens trips. Very unique fun house. -Maura

September 2016 Stay

We stayed over Labor Day weekend and had a blast!! Cabin is private with an amazing view of mountains and the river. Close to Stevens Pass and Leavenworth but isolated enough to really disconnect. Fire pit right on the river and porch in the back that faces the river with lots of seating. We will be back! -Mike

Adorable, comfortable & vintage

Five of us (and a dog) stayed for the weekend and we all fell immediately in love with this cabin! The entire home is filled with vintage furniture and decor. The beds were very comfortable and there were lots of convenient things provided (grilling/firestarting tools, cooking instruments, coffee, etc). We had a communication issue while changing our booking, but in the end it seems like that was a one-off technical glitch (an email didn't send) and their response when I followed up was immediate and very helpful. I don't think the issue was an indicator of their overall service, and we will almost certainly think of this place again in the future for mountain retreats! -Kate
