Beautiful setting!

This cabin/house is right by the river--we were able to look at it and even hear it from the living room, dining room, upstairs balcony, hot tub, and outdoor seating. We had a girls getaway and it served us well--everything was clean and ready for us to eat well, visit with each other, and sleep soundly. Additionally, we took a short drive to a hike around Barclay Lake-a low key trail offering the best of PNW beauty. I would love to revisit this place with the same wonderful people. -Molly

Unbelievably beautiful natural setting

To get here, you drive over the coolest one-lane bridge, and even though you're not far from civilization, it feels remote and untouched. The river is right outside the door, separated from the house only by a big deck with a table and chairs for socializing and a hot tub. We cooked meals, went for a couple of hikes, hung out in the sizable living/dining/kitchen, slept deeply in the quiet, and had an all around wonderful time. -Charity

Splendid setting and a great getaway!

Having grown up on an island here in the Puget Sound and now living in the city, I needed a few days out of town for some space and mountain air. Mountain View Cabin was just the right place for this and more! The yard and large deck provided a great space for relaxing in the sun or in the shade, relaxing in the hot tub with the mountains and river in the foreground was perfect, and wading in the water was great as there were large areas clear of rocks where I set up a portable chair and let the river sweep over my feet. The sight of the suspension bride and songbirds also added to the scene. It was quiet, rejuvenating, and a splendid time - I plan to visit again! -Aaron

Beautiful winter escape

Beautiful house with wrap around deck and spacious hot tub (fit 6 adults and 1 baby with room to spare). Best feature of the house is the floor-to-ceiling windows looking out onto the river, and up at the peak of Mount Index- so gorgeous on a clear day! The property is not as secluded as I was imagining (you look into other people's yards across the river) but it didn't end up feeling too intrusive since there's a good amount of trees dividing each property. We loved having 3 actual beds and 2 bathrooms + a mud room for the dogs- definitely the most comfortable VRBO spot we've found so far. The kitchen is well equipped- really the only thing we found lacking was wine glasses (there were only 4, to share between the 6 of us wine-lovers). It's about a 20 min drive east to Steven's Pass, where we took the whole crew snowshoeing on the Skyline Lake trail (beautiful, short, but major incline!) We then unwound in the evening with hot tub and Netflix. Overall: highly recommend for a relaxing get-away that's only a short trek out of Seattle. -Megan M.

Perfect Homebase

This house was a perfect homebase for exploring the area. My husband and son skied Stevens Pass while my Mom, my daughter and I enjoyed the river and scenery. We all took a gorgeous hike up to bridal veil falls. Great family hike! Hard for the 3 year old but she still did it!! The house was clean and cozy and had plenty of room and privacy for all 5 of us. Beds were super comfy. We enjoyed the hot tub and the fire pit. The views were stunning and the area was quiet. We felt like we were the only ones around. The kids she's 5 & 3 safely rode their bikes all around. They did not want to leave. The availability of staff for questions or assistance was great. I had plenty of changes and questions before we left. Everyone was helpful and eager to respond. I was a little afraid that the house would smell like dog since it was a pet friendly rental. But you would never know a dog had ever been in the house. Totally clean! Great place to stay if you like mountains, rivers, skiing and hiking. Peaceful!! -Jennifer

Great house, great view, great area.

We really enjoyed staying here for the weekend. Sitting in the hot tub looking at the stars and listening to the river was amazing. The house is plenty large for the six of us, and was very clean and taken care of. They had all of the necessities for us to make some great meals as a family, and having a dishwasher was super handy. A+ experience, highly recommend it! -spinny37
